Polish Cultural Institute's booth at the 92nd Street Y Street Festival in 2007
at the Annual 92nd Street Y Festival
Sunday, September 14, 2008
Lexington Avenue at 92nd Street, New York, NY
Hours: 11-5:30 PM
The Polish Cultural Institute traditionally takes part in the popular 92nd Street Y Street Festival, this year with its own booth presenting its 2008/2009 programs.
Next to our booth, you will find those of: the Jewish Culture Festival in Krakow, the Museum of the History of Polish Jews in Warsaw, and the Consulate General of Poland in New York, together with the Polish National Tourist Office
The annual 92nd Street Y Street Festival is one of the City's most popular family fairs, from its music, dance and spoken-word performances to "International Way" - a cultural exhibition featuring 18 countries. At the Polish booths you can learn about Krakow's tremendously vigorous and increasingly popular Jewish Culture Festival, and Warsaw's landmark interactive Museum of the History of Polish Jews, which is about to be built and will celebrate eight centuries of Jewish life and culture in Poland. A third booth will offer information on many of the startling landmarks of Poland's landscape and history, and many new travel opportunities, as well as its cultural legacy and thriving contemporary art world, the fruits of which can often be seen in the U.S.
