Marek Sulek was born August 16, 1963 in Tarnow, Poland. A graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw (studying with Profs. Tarasin and Winiarski) and the Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam (honored with awards for both Master's thesis projects).

A multidisciplinary artist whose activities include painting, photography, and interventions in public space, Mr. Sulek is the author of a number of projects including The Spheres of Unreal Reality, a series of Blue and Pink Trees, Disposable Sculptures, and techno-eco outdoor installations - works that have been presented widely in public spaces and galleries throughout Europe, including Amsterdam, Brussels, Berlin, Sarajevo, The Hague and Warsaw. In his work he often combines elements of nature and technology, e.g. biological material with plastic. In this way, non-existent mutations like blue trees (withered trees painted blue) come into being.

Mr. Sulek has had over 50 solo exhibitions and has participated in some 40 group exhibitions throughout Europe. His most significant presentations have included a movable installation entitled "People 2000", consisting of 4,000 photos of Warsaw inhabitants, in the Polish Exhibit at Expo 2000 in Hanover, Germany, an installation at the Palace of Science and Culture in Warsaw, Poland, at Euro-Art in Antwerp, Belgium, and at the National Museum in The Hague, Netherlands.
