Next Saturday, June 30th, for a special printmaking workshop using the linoleum cutting technique employed by artist Nitza Tufiño. Admission is free, but space is limited, so, if you'd like to attend, please call Taller Boricua at 212.831.4333 to reserve your place in the class. "Tufiño has created pieces for dozens of public spaces, developing new and innovative approaches and processes as she works. Her subject matter echoes ancient Taino images, as well as the rich caribbean culture forged from the "500 year stew" of Amerindian, African and European experience...She works hand in hand with communities to provide public art that not only brings beauty, but also affirms identity." ~ Pablo Delano Photo credit: Nitza Tufiño, Neo-Boriken, Linoleum block print. Study for public art commission at the 103rd Street and Lexington Avenue Subway Station, New York City.
