Strategic Planning for Spanish-speaking Artists

Creative Capital's Professional Development Program (PDP) and NoMAA present
a workshop for up to 20 Spanish-speaking visual artists. This day long
workshop will be an intensive introduction to strategic planning, business
management and verbal communication skills designed specifically for
artists, and will address issues such as working with a gallery, business
negotiations and best practices for self-management. Program limited to 20
participants on a first come, first served basis.

Technical Assistance InstituteSaturday, October 23The NoMAA Technical Assistance Institute is a one-day conference designed to
examine common issues and share some of the fundamental steps to creating
and sustaining a career as an artist and to developing and running a
successful arts organization.
The day will include:
o Welcome Plenary - The Art of Arts Advocacy
o Individual Artists - Strategic Planning for Artists
o Arts Organizations - Strategic Planning and Board Development
o Surviving and Thriving in the Arts: A roundtable discussion between local
artists and arts administrators who will share their success stories, how
to overcome setbacks, and strategies to prosper in an ever challenging art
world.
o Networking session and Open Mic

This two-part workshop will cover how to make your grant proposal a
compelling case for support. Gather information on researching potential
funders, contacting program officers, identifying your needs in a language
that is heard and understood, preparing and understanding your budget, and
presenting supplemental material. In-session and take-home writing
exercises will provide practical experience; completed take-home assignments
will be reviewed in a mock-panel format during the second session. Program
limited to 14 participants on a first come, first served basis.
