Will Maitland Weiss, Executive Director
Arts & Business Council of New York, a division of Americans for the Arts
Naomi Grabel, Director of Marketing and Creative Services, Carnegie Hall

Build an audience for your art.  Tourists, from abroad or from around the City?  Harlem has a huge, positive cultural identification—take advantage of it!  Will Maitland Weiss, Executive Director of the Arts & Business Council of New York will talk briefly about ABC/NY’s partnership initiative with the Harlem Arts Alliance, working together to drive visitors to eat, shop, and experience the arts in Harlem.

Naomi Grabel, Director of Marketing & Creative Services for Carnegie Hall, will lead the main presentation, on developing audiences/buyers—local and tourist—for your performances, exhibitions, classes, artwork, and other cultural experiences, in Harlem and in any other community.  This marketing workshop will address four core elements of finding and retaining audiences:
• Product Distinction,
• Engagement Relationships,
• Authenticity, and
• Access
We will explore each of these essential concepts and translate them into practical steps you can take.  Workshop participants will be asked to use their own past, current, or upcoming arts projects to create relevant case studies of low-cost, actionable marketing initiatives.
