“A Moment of…Loud”

Overview: While reading in the deep silence one’s imagination is loud with visions, words and sounds. In the pop-up performance series, “A Moment of…Loud” talent from the visual arts, spoken word, music, dance, theater, fashion and more will bring those inner moments to life as inspired by literary works. Each act will present their performance at a TBA venue during peak hours. Post-performance each act will conduct a meet-and-greet. Performers will also be allowed to sell their products on-site. With “A Moment of…Loud,” non-traditional venues are momentarily transformed into performance spaces where the unexpected is expected.

·        Submission Deadline:  March 19^th, 2012

·        Performance Stipend: $300

Eligibility Requirements:

·        You must be a current member of the Harlem Arts Alliance. To register or renew please click here.

·        Please be available for one day during the month of June, July and/or August 2012. Performance Date: TBA.

·        Performers must provide their own tools to conduct their presentation.

“A Moment of …Loud” Marketing Flyer Contest:

·        One youth or collective group, ages 13-21 years old will be selected to design the marketing flyer for the performance series which will be used in all marketing efforts (online and print). PLEASE NOTE: The flyer should include be creative, vibrant and incorporate the theme of literature coming to life.

·        Submission Deadline:  March 19^th, 2012

·        Marketing Flyer Stipend: $200

·        Youth DO NOT have to be a current member of the Harlem Arts Alliance.
